A little about myself!

Howdy there,

My name is Maya, and I currently am planted in Albuquerque, New Mexico trying to pursue my artistic journey full force. I have been creating stickers and paintings for about 8 years now, while caricatures and murals have come a little bit later but all apart of the same journey of discovery. I create to have a way to express myself in a way that is more cohesive, colorful, and bold. For the first 4-6 years of really dedicating myself to Tipto, I drew the same woman over and over and over again, not realizing that I was actually drawing hundreds of different versions of myself. I fell in love with humanizing objects as myself, and then fell in love with drawing the beauty of others. Being able to connect with others through art, if it is drawing them and their family, or their dog, or giving a sticker to a kid who had eyes that lit up so big when they saw my art, or bringing life to a neighborhood with a colorful wall filled with my doodles. Whatever the connection is that is made, it makes me feel fulfilled, seen and that I am figuring exactly why I am here on this earth.
